Sunscreen is mainly due to the effect of the UV filter(s) in the SPF protection factor (Sun Protection Factor). In addition, it is the ingredients that the various products contain that better hydrate and care for the skin.

Most chemical sunscreens only work in the skin after 30 minutes. Mineral filters work faster, the layer on the skin reflects the light back, as it were. Mineral filters are often also milder for the skin and are therefore recommended for children or for people with sensitive skin.
